Meet the Maker: Quotes By Hope

We’re so excited to introduce you to this week’s featured maker, Quotes By Hope! Hope’s colorful artwork has flower child, hippie vibes that will take you to another dimension. Her products are full of positive messages and reminders to tune into your inner self, practice compassion, and expand your creativity. We can’t wait to share her art and story with you today!

Hi Hope! Thanks for sharing your story with us today. Can you tell everyone a little about yourself?

Hi, I’m Hope Bidinger, and I am a Visual Artist and Yoga Instructor based out of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. When I am not creating art or yoga flows, I am most likely lifting weights, vintage shopping, listening to a podcast, or playing with my cat. I also enjoy doing film and digital photography! Whether I am taking photos of my friends, nature, or cool architecture, I can find inspiration just about anywhere.

You have so many fun, creative outlets! This past year has been a tough one. Can you share something good that has come out of this time?

2020 was the year I started Quotes By Hope! I wanted to occupy my time with something fun and impactful that uplifts people’s spirits.

Congratulations! That’s a wonderful thing to come out of a tough year! Tell us about Quotes By Hope! What do you make and how long have you been doing it?

I have been doing Quotes By Hope for a little over a year now, and it is always fun to create new products for people to enjoy. I have an online shop, and I also have my merchandise in various boutiques across the DFW area. I sell stickers, art prints, cards, journals, and t-shirts!

We love the products you create! How has your work evolved over time?

My work has evolved by having a clearer message and aesthetic. Also, I have been making kaleidoscope prints as well as short GIFs/animations. It takes more time to create moving pictures, and I enjoy seeing the result!

How cool! We can’t wait to see what’s next! What advice would you give a young artist?

Limit your screen time and let yourself be bored. I’ve found that boredom, as well as designing from a quiet space, enhances creativity.

Limiting screen time is great advice! There’s so much creativity to be found when we put away the devices that allow us to “numb out.” If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

There are many places I want to visit! The next place on my list is Costa Rica. I want to attend a surf/yoga camp. Anywhere that has a beach, delicious food, beautiful scenery, and culture, I’m all about!

Sounds like an amazing trip! We hope you make it there soon! If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?

Teleportation, hands down. I’d travel through spacetime, slip into different dimensions, and I would make it home for an interesting dinner conversation. Not sure if it is obvious, but I love all things superhero and sci-fi.

What a fun superpower! We’d love to be a part of those post-teleportation dinnertime conversations! It was so fun learning about you today, and we are so thankful to have you as one of our makers!
